When I tell someone I design websites & templates, sometimes they ask:

"Why Squarespace instead of WordPress?"

It's a fair question. WordPress is incredibly powerful, and for some businesses, it's absolutely the right choice.

But for the creative entrepreneurs I work with? Squarespace usually wins. Here's why.

You Don't Need a Web Development Degree

Okay, maybe that's a little dramatic...

But if you've ever logged into a website and immediately thought, "I have no idea what I'm looking at," you know what I mean.

Squarespace is built for regular people who want to actually manage their own website after it's launched. Editing text, swapping images, updating products, or writing a blog post feels intuitive instead of overwhelming.

That's important because I don't want my clients to feel dependent on me every time they need to change a sentence. I want my clients to launch and feel like they can handle it from there on out.

Everything Works Together

One of my favorite things about Squarespace is that so many features are already built in. Need a blog? Cool. Need forms? Done. Need a portfolio? Great.

Need an online shop? Boom, you have one.

Instead of spending hours comparing plugins and hoping they all play nicely together, you can focus on actually running your business, and doing whatever you do.

It Looks Professional Without Feeling Overly Complicated

A beautiful website shouldn't need endless hours of tweaking.

Squarespace does a great job of balancing clean design with flexibility. You can create something that feels polished and custom without getting lost in hundreds of settings.

That's exactly why I build templates instead of expecting my clients to start from a blank page.

Let's be real. You probably didn't start your business because you were passionate about website maintenance. You started it because you love what you do, and you want an internet home.

Your website should support your business, not become another full-time job.

Is Squarespace Right for Everyone?

No platform is going to be perfect. Every single one has it's pros and cons.

If you're building an incredibly complex membership site or a massive custom web application, another platform might make more sense.

But if you're an artist, photographer, small solo service provider, coach, creative, or small shop owner, Squarespace often gives you everything you need without the extra headaches. I

That's why I keep coming back to it. It's simply, beautiful and pretty dang reliable.

Sometimes that's exactly what a small business needs.
